Starring Zach Perez, Directed by Em Perez
So Nana is turning 95, or you feel like quitting your job, or maybe propose to your girlfriend at prom. Call the ding-dong who sings songs! He'll sing your greetings for you perfectly, or maybe not, guaranteed! He may, if he feels like it, even deliver your specialized custom telegram message...the way he wants to, anyway. But he will, definitely, NOT take your "unsophisticated" opinions and disagreements on his "art". And he will, definitely, talk about all you Philistines on his podcast.
This comedic one-man shenanigan of a show follows the tale of a cynical podcaster trying to find human connection through some unconventional and possibly offensive singing telegrams. Featuring an amazing soundtrack of Outsider Music, this play speaks to the Outsider in all of us.
Come grab a beer, grab your seat, and enjoy the play!
Outsider Music refers to art created by self-taught or amateur artists who operate outside the mainstream. It is characterized by its lack of adherence to traditional conventions or styles. It is associated with unconventional sounds, unique lyrical content, and a lack of polish. This show is a love-letter to Outsider Music, featuring music from Moondog, Daniel Johnston, Wesley Willis, Jandek, and Captain Beefheart. Don’t worry, if you listen to Nick Drake or the Mountain Goats, you’re already halfway there! And if you don’t know Outsider Music at all, you are in for a REAL treat!

“Deeply weird, incredibly enjoyable”
“Zach Perez is a force. It’s an hour of the silliest acting, singing, dancing and costumes, then somehow he still makes you cry. What the fuck.”
“I expected “Ding Dong Sing Song” to be a funny and at times cynical take on the day to day experience of a singing telegram “artiste”. And I was right! But I was also (pleasantly) surprised by how moving it was. It was funny and relatable, and the actor, Zach Perez, portrayed the character with a tailor- made sense of truth. 11/10 stars, I highly recommend it.”
What is a Singing Telegram!?!?
It wasn’t until we began marketing this show that we realized singing telegrams are totally obsolete and a lot of people (younger) don’t know what the hell that is. A singing telegram was a horror from the olden days, conjured when your enemies wanted to torture you. Someone in costume would arrive at YOUR HOUSE (or place of work) and sing at you, sometimes with specific lyrical changes to include your name or some nonsense. A lot of us also experienced this heinous punishment in High School where the Jazz Choir would do it as a fundraiser, like when STUPID BECKY paid $1 for you to be pulled in front of the class and have Goo Goo Dolls sung at you.
You are probably familiar with this moment in the Will Ferrell classic….
You are probably not familiar with this moment in Clue, but you definitely should be….
“I don’t want to give anything away, but there is a scene in a child’s hospital room that made me BELLY LAUGH.”

Ratio Beerworks is an independent craft brewery in Denver, CO focusing on meticulously crafted beer. Stemming from our deep roots in the punk rock music scene, the co-founders sought to translate that same DIY spirit, sense of community, and inclusiveness through our brewery. We view our beer as a vehicle to fuel positive change and aim to support the growth of local musicians, artists, and creators to achieve their endeavors while at the same time focusing on traditional styles with a modern twist. Our beers strive for balance and approachability, paying homage to tradition while also pushing the boundary on innovation. However, at the end of the day, it's about more than just the beer. It’s about that perfect ratio of beer, music, and community that encompasses what Ratio Beerworks represents.
